GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD
Every morning on our Church Without Walls, we begin by giving God thanks and we end the service by giving God thanks. I believe with all my heart that when we pray, our first words ought to flow from our hearts and mouths with thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for. God has been extremely good to us. Yes, we may have problems and burdens and feel the need to ask the Lord for help. However, sometimes if we just remember what the Lord has already done, it will help us to know that if He did it before, He will do it again. Let us not suffer amnesia and forget to thank God. Our scripture reference for this devotion is found in Psalm 105:1 and reads in this manner.
“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness. Let the whole world know what He has done.”
The psalmist begins this psalm by acknowledging God’s goodness and calls the people to acknowledge what the Lord has done and to give Him thanks. “Sing praises to His Holy Name. Tell everyone about His wonderful deeds.” Remember the wonders and miracles that He has performed. The psalmist has a heart of thanksgiving and he expresses it by praising the Lord. He wants everyone to tell of the power of God. When you get a chance, this psalm is a good one to read. Don’t let a day go by without praising and thanking Him. He is worthy to be praised. We have a story to tell and a God to glorify. He has done marvelous things. Let our voices express praises unto Him.
