GIVE GOD YOUR LIFE
Yesterday’s devotion spoke of honoring God by being in right position. Today, we follow up with, “Give God Your Life”. God wants all of us; not part of us, but all of us. We need to offer the best that we have. We need to remember that God wants our hearts, minds and entire being. Today’s devotion speaks of the need to honor God with our lives as found in Romans 12:1:
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
Paul, the humble servant of the Lord, appealed to the people. Paul was committed to offer himself as a vessel unto the Lord. He made a plea for the people to offer their bodies as a living sacrifice: holy and acceptable. Paul’s appeal is about the mercies of God. The fact that God has blessed us ought to inspire our response to present our bodies as a living sacrifice. Paul describes the substance of our offering as our bodies. In far too many cases, our bodies are used for everything other than as a sacrifice unto God. We spend a great deal of time exercising to keep these bodies in shape. The real question is how much time do we spend keeping our bodies holy and acceptable unto God? What do we eat? What do we do with our bodies? Do we neglect our bodies? This is our spiritual worship; we have one body. Let us use this body to glorify God for His purpose and will so we can say, “Lord not just my body but my heart, my mind; my complete self, I surrender and offer to you as a sacrifice of praise.
