Today’s devotion speaks about the importance of giving God thanks for everything — and I do mean everything! Give God thanks for the big things and the little things, as well as for the trials and the triumphs. Reality has taught us that trials tend to draw us closer to God.  Someone once said, “If you never had problems, you wouldn’t know that God could solve them, and you wouldn’t know what faith in God could do.” Take a moment today and reflect over your life.   Look back at some of those trials and trouble that caused you to discover the power of God. I can write a book about how many times God has blessed me through some of the trials and troubles in my life, and I know I’m not alone. Let me be honest— I did not always thank God for bringing me through my trials.  But when I look back now, I give Him thanks for how He has brought me through! In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, we find these words:

“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

Paul writes to his brothers and sisters in the Lord to encourage them, and to advise them to never stop praying. He wants them to never complain, but to give God thanks for everything.  When you get a chance, read this chapter.  Prayerfully, we will learn to give God thanks for everything, no matter what situation we find ourselves.  We must always trust God, because He will always bring us through!
