God holds us accountable; therefore, we must give an account of ourselves. I would argue strongly that far too many people live each day not being accountability to God. God holds us responsible for the gifts He has given to us. How we use our blessings is something that all of us must take inventory of. In other words, what have we done to show God gratitude for all He has done for us? To much is given much is required. Sometimes it is hard to take inventory of your life, when we come face-to-face with the fact that we have not done all that we should have or could have done. The scripture reference is Romans 14:12.

“Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.”

This is not a long verse, yet, it is powerful. Paul writes that we must take an account of ourselves. In this chapter, he speaks of the danger of criticism and the danger of judging and condemning others. He says that we must all stand before God’s judgment Seat. In His presence, everyone will bow and every tongue will declare allegiance to God.  Paul writes, decide to live in a way that does not cause another to fall. This chapter warns us of the anger of judging others for we, too, will be judged and held accountable. Prayerfully, when you read this chapter, you will once again take inventory of your life and ask God to have mercy on you. When the truth is told, all of us have areas in our lives that are way beyond the mark of where we should be. Thank God for His grace and mercy.
