Thank God for the gift of the Holy Spirit! It enables us to be in the marvelous presence of God who leads, guides, and protects us. There is a song that we sing titled “Sweet Holy Spirit.”  Some of the words are, “Sweet Holy Spirit, Sweet Heavenly Dove, stay right here with us, filling us with your love…” I carry those words in my heart.  More importantly, I have felt His Spirit in the midnight hour when I did not know which way to turn. Without the Holy Spirit, we can do nothing. My life has been enhanced and blessed because of God’s Holy Spirit, and I know I am not alone. Many of you have also been empowered by His Spirit. 

In Isaiah 11:2,we find these words:

And the Spirit of the LORD will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.

The writer speaks of the blessings that will be granted unto David’s family. In verses 3 and 4, he continues saying that he will “…delight in obeying the Lord.  He will not judge …, nor make a decision based on hearsay.  He will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited …”  We rejoice in the Spirit of the Lord! Give God praise for His marvelous gift of the Holy Spirit!
