GET READY TO BE PROMOTED
God has a way of elevating us. We must always be ready to be promoted in the army of the Lord. In order to be promoted, one must be faithful in their present assignment. God will honor the faithful and take them to another level. Prayerfully, you have watched God elevate you because you have been good, and you have sought to be faithful. God is a rewarder of those who seek to do His work and His will. There is no greater work than to offer yourself fully and freely to the Lord. God’s promoting us requires humility. We cannot push or elbow our way upward; it is for us to trust God. In His own time, He will elevate you. The scripture reference for today is found in I Peter 4:13.
“Instead, be very glad – for these trials make you partners with Christ in His suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing His glory when it is revealed to all the world.”
In this passage, the writer makes it clear that God rewards those who suffer for Christ. When sufferings come, do not be surprised or act as if God has left you. Instead, be glad that these trials make you partners with Christ and His suffering. As I write this devotion, I think of Rev. Daniel Mulunda who is imprisoned in The Congo for doing the Lord’s work and will by preaching the gospel. In prison, God has promoted and elevated him to bless his fellow prisoners and make his witness known. He does not complain or get angry but trusts and waits on the Lord. God is using Him. And, in His own time, He will crown him with His blessings. All of us who claim the name of Jesus will suffer at some point, perhaps not in prison. But, there will be times in our lives when we will be persecuted. However, we must remain faithful, At some point, God will use it for His glory. Prayerfully you have been fortified by the power of God and you know that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord. You are waiting and trusting God to use you in a mighty way. So, remain true to God and count it all joy when sufferings come.
