As a people of God, we are called to get involved in the lives of others. Every day there are opportunities to make a difference in someone’s life. We have the awesome responsibility to get involved in seeking social justice. There is imbalance in this country for the underserved. We are to get involved with those who are hungry and in need. Jesus said, “For I was hungry and you gave ne food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me.” He gave instructions on what we are to do. We cannot remain silent or stand on the sidelines. Our faith must always be put into action. Mark 6:37 is a familiar scripture worth reviewing:
“But Jesus said, ‘You feed them.’ ‘With what?’ they asked. ‘We’d have to work for months to earn enough money to buy food for all these people!’”
We see a multitude of people. The day was well spent and the disciples were in a desert place and they felt that this crowd was not their responsibility. They had not issued and invitation to them, they had simply followed Jesus. The disciples were more concerned about themselves than for the crowd, telling the Master to send them away. Jesus instructed them to give them something to eat. Jesus always has a heart for those in need. He took the five loaves and two fish and fed the multitude. It is amazing what God can do. He makes the impossible, possible. Therefore, as we become involved, He has given us the resources we need when we need them. Somebody is reaching out today for a helping hand. Get involved. Do it for the glory of God and He will bless your life.
