Follow the Vision God Has Given
Deacon Ron Bradley facilitated a Bible Study with the theme “Igniting God’s Vision for BBC.” It was a very thought-provoking series because we came to realize that God does speak. He speaks through visions and dreams that we must be willing to follow. Sometimes the dreams are not always clear, which reminds us that we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). God may choose to show us a glimpse of the vision, but rest assured that if we follow the vision, God will make it clear to us. In Genesis 15:12, we find these words:
“As the sun was going down, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a terrifying darkness came down over him.”
Abram (later known as Abraham) had a horrible dream. He had little knowledge what the dream implied, but his descendants would learn what was symbolized in this dream. There were times when the people walked in darkness, but the end result brought them to the light. Sometimes in our dreams we are made aware that there will be moments of pain along our way, but if we trust God, He will bring to pass that which He has for us. It is my prayer, today, that whatever dream or vision God has given us, even if we do not understand it, we will have the faith to trust and follow Him.
