The Lord knows the plans that He has for us are to prosper and do good. Consequently, we must follow His path. We cannot choose to move in another direction. I would argue strongly that many of us have discovered the pain and heartache when we have stepped out from the Lord’s path. We cannot even allow our enemies to take us out of the will and way of the Lord. We must always be mindful that there are no shortcuts or quick ways to move forward in life. We must stay the course. Our scripture reference for this devotion is found in Psalm 25:4.

“Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.”

The psalmist cries out to the Lord to lead him in the path of truth. He knows God’s power and says, “Lord remember thy tender mercies toward me.” He does not want His enemies to cause him to go in the wrong direction. The psalmist is honest and transparent and pleads to the Lord to not remember the sins he committed in his youth. The psalmist is experiencing the pains of life, but he also remembers the goodness of God. Read this entire psalm. Prayerfully, you will follow the Lord’s path for the rest of your life.
