As we walk with the Lord, it is essential that we follow His guidance. He knows the way we take, and He will surely lead us along the right path. We need to always remember that we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Even when we don’t know where the Lord is leading us, we must have the faith to follow Him. Anytime we wander away from the path of God, it leads to self-destruction. His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8). There may be times that we don’t know exactly where the road will lead, but we can never go wrong when we follow the Lord’s guidance. In Psalm 32:8, we find these words:

“The Lord says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.’”

The psalmist urges those who are young and inexperienced  to learn from the mistakes that he made. His desire is that none would go their own way, but that they would follow the Lord. He recognizes that they can be stubborn, so he urges them to be wise and follow the Lord’s counsel. It is my prayer today that we are wise enough to follow the Lord’s guidance. Perhaps we, like the psalmist, can impart to someone the value of following the Lord; we will be blessed, they will be blessed, and God will get the glory.
