FIGHTING THE ENEMY
Today’s devotion follows the deep and profound words of yesterday’s title. It gives us direction on how to fight the enemy. We are to pray and put on the whole armor of God. We do not fight the enemy the way the world does. Today’s passage of scripture gives us insight on how we are to fight the enemy. It is Ephesians 6:12.
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
So, as we fight we need to stand our ground by putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. Put on the shoes of peace, and the breastplate of righteousness in place. In this chapter, the Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit is also our armor. Ephesians 6 also says to pray in the Spirit at all times. There is that word pray again. We fight the enemy not only with the armor of God, but with the power of prayer. We cannot lose when we fight in the Spirit of God. We do not fight evil spirits by being evil. We fight evil spirits by the power of God.
