It is important that we put our trust in the Lord. Trusting Him is the only way that we can handle life’s trials. We discover, through trusting Him, that no matter how difficult things are, He has a way of working them out. For those of us who have children, we should instill in them the importance of trusting God. As they grow and develop, they will have obstacles and challenges in life just as we have. However, when they put their trust in the Lord, they will become victorious. Let me add, that our children are always watching us so that when we tell them to trust the Lord, we need to make sure that we trust Him. That is to say, trust Him in every aspect of our lives. Our children are blessed when we share what God has done for us, and what He will do for them when they put their trust in an Almighty God. I Kings 2:3 is the scriptural reference today.

“Observe the requirements of the Lord your God and follow all His ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.”

In this moving passage, David gives final instructions to his son, Solomon. He wants Solomon to know the importance of trusting the Lord and tells Solomon to keep the Lord’s commandments by honoring and serving Him. When Solomon does that, he will be successful in all that he puts his heart and hands to do. The Lord will keep the promise He made to Him. David’s love for Solomon is so deep that he wants Solomon to remain faithful and rely on God. He wants Solomon to serve the Lord with all his heart, soul, and mind. God will honor us, as we are faithful and true to Him. Prayerfully, this day and every day, you will be able to trust in the Lord until the day you die.
