EXPECT A BLESSING
It is wonderful to live life expecting God to do new and exciting things each morning when you awaken. Regardless of your burdens and problems, you expect God to bless you. That expectation comes because you know that God has all power in His hands. You are assured of the promises He has made, to never leave you nor forsake you. That expectancy allows you to live a meaningful and fruitful life knowing that in God’s own time, He will send blessings your way. I would argue strongly that many people have no hope and live their lives with gloom and doom. However, the blessing comes in knowing that weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. The Biblical reference for this devotion is Psalm 25:4.
“Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.” The psalmist turns to the Lord and acknowledges His deep and abiding trust. In the first verse he writes, “O Lord, I give my life to you.” The psalmist’s trust is so deep that he expects God’s blessings to flow. He knows that God has the compass for Him to follow. He knows that there are blessings awaiting Him on the journey of life. He is eager to follow the Lord, because of this. Throughout this psalm, the psalmist declares the goodness and mercy of God. He has put his entire life in the hands of the Lord for he knows that the Lord’s hands are strong and mighty. He expects God’s blessings to fall upon him because of his deep trust in the Lord. May your trust in God be as deep as the psalmist’s, and may you live each day expecting blessings to come your way. God is full of blessings and has one for each one of us
