DRINK FROM THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE
Today’s devotion is in keeping with yesterday’s devotion that spoke of seeking God’s power. Today, we want to drink from the fountain of life, for life’s problems can drain us dry. The trials and troubles of life can cause us to be thirsty for the living water that flows from God. Trouble can sap our strength. It is amazing how life’s problems can overwhelm us and drive us to our knees. It is on our knees that we find the strength we need. It is there on our knees that we can drink from the Living Water that never runs dry. Listen to the words of the psalmist in Psalm 36:8.
“You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights.”
The psalmist gives testimony to the power and love of God. In the Psalm, he writes how God cares for His people. The psalmist shares from his heart how precious God’s love is. He says that all humanity finds shelter in the shadow of His wings and that the Lord’s love never runs dry. The Lord feeds His people from the abundance of His love and lets them drink to be refreshed from the rivers of delight. He offers praise to God for He has put His trust in the Lord. What a wonderful testimony the psalmist gives to himself and to God’s people. Those who are thirsty can drink from the Fountain of Life. Thanks be unto God today that we are able to drink from the water of life that never runs dry: water that refreshes and renews us. Whenever you are in need of God’s love to quench your thirst, just drink and you will be filled with an abundance of God’s love.
