Today’s devotion speaks of the need to draw near to God. It is important to have an intimate relationship with God and to be close to Him. There is something about the power that comes when you are in His presence. God grants a bond, a link to those who are near and dear to Him. Think about this for a few minutes. Our divine God invites us to draw near to Him. He loves us so much that He wants us to know the power of His love. I am positive that someone reading this devotion knows first-hand of the power that comes from drawing near to God. It is hard to put into words, for there are no words in our vocabulary that can adequately express the blessings that come when we are in His presence. Today’s scripture reference is Hebrews 4:16.

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

The writer of this scripture encourages the people of God to draw near to Him. We have a great High Priest, Jesus the Son of God. He understands our weakness for He has faced all the temptations we do. Yet, He did not sin. We can find the strength to avoid sin when we come to Him. When we draw to him, we receive His mercy and grace to help us in our times of need. There is no temptation we cannot overcome, because of His grace and mercy. Many believers find themselves in difficult situations because they failed to come to the Lord before responding. Jesus Christ should be the first one we seek for divine guidance in times of troubles. We need to draw near to Him before making major decisions in our lives. Whatever you are going through today, draw near to Christ and He will surely draw near to you. He will grant to you the power you need to overcome every obstacle in life.
