DON’T LOOK SO SAD
As believers, we cannot walk around as if we are defeated. Our hearts should always be open, no matter what is going on. We know that our God is on the Throne. Our countenance gives evidence that we are children of the Most High God. Therefore, we should always have a smile on our face, regardless of what is taking place. When we walk around with a sad face, we give evidence to the devil that we are defeated. I vividly remember that this year on Saturday, February 8th, I attended Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church’s worship service. Their Associate Minister, Reverend Leroy Miles, preached. He said that he always has a smile on his face, no matter what. I remember those words like yesterday. I work at keeping a smile on my face, recognizing that I have nothing to worry about because I serve a God who can do all things and do all things well. In Proverbs 17:22 we hear this referenced:
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”
The writer provides insight into the blessing of a cheerful heart. Many of the Proverbs exalt the value of cheerfulness. The cheerful one brings healing to their body. It is good medicine. Medical science has proven that a positive attitude is able to bring healing to your body. Nothing is gained by looking sad and defeated. Prayerfully, you have a glad heart and a wonderful smile.
