DON’T LIVE IN CONFUSION
Whenever I write these devotions, I try to be as open and honest as I can. I never want to come across as “holier than thou”. Consequently, from time to time I share parts of my personal journey. Growing up, I lived in a house where there was much confusion. It caused me great pain. More than once, I asked God to grant peace to me in the midst of confusion. I learned valuable lessons in my youth. One is, do not live in confusion. It will destroy your life and take away the joy that God gives. God does not dwell in confusion. A scripture that serves as our devotional text today is found in Isaiah 11:12 and reads:
“He will raise a flag among the nations and assemble the exiles of Israel. He will gather the scattered people of Judah from the ends of the earth.”
The writer speaks of the Lord’s Spirit granting rest, wisdom and understanding. The chapter begins with these words “Out of the stump of David’s family will grow a shoot – yes, a new Branch bearing fruit from the old root.” The Spirit of God gives wisdom that we might live a fulfilling life without confusion. Wisdom is a gift from God who grants true meaning in our life. One of the greatest blessings is to have the peace of God that passes all understanding. Seek to live a life free from confusion. Be open to the Spirit of God that He might guide you into all truth. Prayerfully, if you read this entire chapter, you will discover the true meaning of life.
