DON’T LET FEAR IMPRISON YOU
It is so important that we live by faith and not by fear. We cannot allow fear to control our lives. Many people have become fearful recently due to the virus. Let me put a disclaimer by saying that we all need to be wise in taking the proper precautions to protect ourselves. But I am speaking about those who have allowed fear to take over their lives. If we wake up in the morning fearful, and are motivated by fear, then we are not able to live a meaningful life. For years, many people have been imprisoned in their minds because of self-destruction. Today, break loose from those invisible chains! Give your worries and concerns over to God — He cares for you! In Psalm 56:3, we find these words:
“But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you“
The psalmist makes clear as to what he would do if he became fearful. He begins this passage of scripture by saying,” O God, have mercy on me, for people are hounding me. My foes attack me all day long. I am constantly hounded by those who slander me, and many are boldly attacking me.” But he says that when he is afraid, he is going to trust in God. He says, “I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?” He is confident that when he calls for help, God will be there to help him. He gives praises to God for what He has promised to do. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, each of us will be able to break free from the fear that imprisons us.
