Today’s devotion speaks about the need never to let go of God. His love for us is always present. Unfortunately, the truth is that far too often we tend to leave God out. The result is devastating. We need His mercy every day. Thanks, be unto God that He never leaves or forsakes us. Today’s devotion assures us that God is merciful. The scripture lesson is found in Lamentations 3:22 and reads in this manner:

“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.”

The Book of Lamentations is a book that we seldom read. The poet has five distinct poems that comprise these five chapters. They speak of the love of God. The poet indicates that the Lord’s mercies never end. His mercies are fresh each day. Morning-by-morning new mercies are there for us to see. The poet knows the need to keep the Lord in his life. Without the Lord’s unfailing love, our lives would be lost. When you get a chance, read this entire poem in chapter five. Then, make a commitment. If you have not already done so, put the Lord first in your life for the rest of your life.
