DON’T BE AFRAID
As we experience life’s struggles, we need to remain confident that the Lord is with us every step of the way. We cannot be afraid of the dangers that surround us for God is powerful. We can draw upon His strength. During these troublesome times, we discover the grace and mercy of God and know that we are never alone. Oh, I know those who claim that they are never afraid. Because we are human, we do find ourselves at times to be fearful. Remember that faith is stronger than fear. Today’s devotion, Isaiah 12:2 reminds us not to be afraid.
“See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The LORD God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.”
In this moving text, the author speaks with full confidence of his trust in the Lord. In verse one, he offers the praise of salvation, Verse two is a song of thanksgiving and deliverance. The words ring out with truth. Victory has come. Salvation is received. What a powerful testimony about the power of God. The Lord God Almighty has brought joy to His servant. Prayerfully, you are able to say that God is a God of salvation, and that you put your complete trust in Him and that you are not afraid that the God you trust is able to keep you in perfect peace.
