Doing Good to All

As I was reading the words that serve as our scripture reference for this devotion, I could not help but think of Deacon Ron Bradley who teaches our Midweek Bible Study.  He has a unique way of sharing the Word of God.  He takes great delight in the class as we the study the Bible. One evening he led us in a discussion regarding our responsibility as believers to do good to all.  It was a powerful evening and many views were expressed.  The Word of God calls upon us to do good to one another. In Galatians 6:1 we find these words:

“Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path.

The obligation to heal those who fall is not the work of the pastor and preacher alone, but to all those who are part of the Body of Christ. Paul goes on to say that when we see another brother or sister fall, as opposed to condemning them, we should find ways to embrace them.  It is easy for us to do good to those who do good to us, but it is much more difficult to do good to those who do not do good to us or to others.  Always remember that God is good to us no matter what.  Remembering that makes it much easier to do good to all.
