DOING GOD’S WORK

As people of God, we are chosen to do His work. I would argue strongly that we cannot do His good work unless we have a spiritual foundation. This is important because we must continue to do His good work, even when our faith is tested. We must remain strong so that all that we do will bring glory and honor to God. We can only do this by trusting completely in God. In 1 Peter 1:8, we find these words:

“You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.”

Peter is writing to God’s chosen people. about the hope of eternal life. He tells them that all glory and honor belong to God. He wants them to continue doing God’s good work in spite of the trials they may be facing. Peter wanted them to know that when their faith is tested, they must remain strong, because the work they do will bring glory and honor to God. The people are to love God and work for Him, even though they have not seen Him. The reward for trusting Him will be the salvation of their souls. Their suffering would not be in vain, because their good work was not going to be overlooked by God, who would bless them. Prayerfully, we all have strong faith in the Lord, and we are doing His good work.
