DO YOU KNOW HIS VOICE?
Today’s devotion raises a question: Do you know His voice? Do you recognize the voice of the Lord? To recognize His voice, you must have a personal relationship with Him. You must also be willing to listen when He speaks. He brings forth power. As parents, we know the voice of our children, and our children know our voices. Because God is our Heavenly Father, do we know His voice? There is no voice like His. The scripture reference is John 10:27.
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow Me.”
Jesus, the Master Teacher, speaks of how His sheep know His voice. The Master is in the temple in Jerusalem, with people around Him. The people raised a question: if you are the Messiah, tell us. He replied, ‘I already told you, but you don’t believe me because you are not my sheep. My sheep know my voice.” The Master is the Shepherd, and we are the sheep. The sheep know the shepherd. It is amazing because we need to recognize that we are not the Shepherd, we are simply the sheep. It takes humility to refer to yourself as a sheep. Nevertheless, the Shepherd loves His sheep, and He loves us. I pray that you know the voice of the Shepherd and are responding to Him.
