The Lord has called us to do the right thing: to love Him and His people. We cannot plead ignorance, for He has told us many times what we are to do. We are to love our neighbor, be kind to one another and concerned about the less fortunate. We need to love our enemies so we cannot plead ignorance and say, “the devil made me do it” The Lord calls on those who say they love Him to do the right thing. If you have been reading this week’s devotions, it talked about making the right decision. I spoke of knowing the Lord’s voice. It is crucial in our relationship with Him to do the right thing. Galatians 6:7 is our scriptural reference for today’s devotion.

“Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.”

The writer of this deep and profound passage clearly states that we harvest what we plant. In this chapter, Paul writes that those who are taught God’s Word should also live by God’s Word. Throughout this chapter, he emphasizes doing what is right. Paul writes not to get tired in doing good, for in the right time, the harvest of blessings will come to those who do not give up. There is much to be gained by doing the right thing. Prayerfully, you are doing what is right and following the Master’s blueprint for doing good. You cannot beat God’s giving no matter how hard you try. The more you give, the more He gives to you. So, keep on doing right to reap eternal blessings.
