Divine Potential
God has blessed us in so many ways. He has given us a new lease on life. During one of our Church Without Walls morning calls, one of our faithful callers talked about her journey. She shared that God had cleaned her up and given her a new lease on life. I am so glad that God does not hold our past against us, but gives us divine intervention, blessing us with divine potential. In Acts 9:26, we find these words:
When Saul arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to meet with the believers, but they were all afraid of him. They did not believe he had truly become a believer!
The writer speaks of Saul’s coming to Jerusalem to unite with the disciples. They were afraid of him and did not believe he could be a disciple. Barnabas took him in and brought him to meet with the disciples. God had already arranged that Saul would be blessed by Barnabas. We need more people like Barnabas who are willing to see the potential in us. We need more Barnabas’ who are willing to take us by the hand to mentor, coach, and support us. Prayerfully, you are a Barnabas who encourages others to glorify God with the divine potential He has placed in them. Thank God for Pastor Albert Franklin Campbell, Pastor Emeritus of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, who was my Barnabas. God used him to bless me. I pray that God is using each of us to bless another.
