DEEP INTO GOD’S WORD

I am grateful for the men and women of God who dig deeply into His Word. In Bethlehem, we are blessed with wonderful instructors who teach God’s Word. With their wisdom and insight, our Wednesday noonday Bible study is taught by Aaron Watkins and nightly Bible Study is taught by Deacon Ron Bradley and Reverend Jarkeer Lasseter. They provide the people of God deep insight into His Word. We are encouraged as a people to study God’s Word. We cannot take the Word of God lightly. It gives us instruction and guidance. As we study His Word, we must also apply it to our lives. II Timothy 3:16 is our scripture reference for today’s devotion.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”

Paul charges Timothy to remain faithful and be able to handle persecution with faith, patience, and endurance. He tells his son in the ministry to remain faithful to the scriptures he has been taught from childhood. Paul says that God inspires all scripture, not a portion. You cannot read God’s Word and remain the same. Not only will His Word inspire you, it will correct you. We must discipline ourselves to read God’s Word each day. It is my fervent prayer that you are a reader of the Word and a doer of the Word. I pray that you dig deep to understand God’s Word and that you strive every day to not be shallow.
