CONTINUE TO DO GOD’S WORK
As believers, we are a work in progress. God has not finished with us yet. He does not want us ever to feel as though our work is completed, but always to be open to new opportunities that God is going to give to us. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. We must be about the Father’s business and carry out the things he has called us to do. Even when we become weary and worn and feel like giving up, we must honor God each day of our lives. The scripture reference today is Philippians 1:6 and reads:
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
In this passage, Paul urges God’s people to continue the good work they have started. In this chapter, he expresses thanksgiving to the Philippians. He offers prayers to the church leaders and asks God to give them grace and peace. Then, he says that every time he thinks of them, he acknowledges his gratitude to God. Paul wants them to grow strong in the Lord and to finish what they have started. They have a special place in God’s heart. Paul expresses his love to them. He wants them to grow in their knowledge and understanding. He wants their lives to glorify God. Read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, you will continue to do the good work that God has entrusted you to do. May your work always please Him, and may He get the glory out of your life and may others be blessed by your work for the Master.
