Thanks, be unto God that our ways are not His ways. His ways are holy, righteous, and full of love and grace. We must be willing to concede that our ways should ultimately become His ways. We cannot claim to be His and continue to do things our way. We need to change some of our ways, for some of them are out of line, when it comes to God. Today, consider your ways. Take inventory of your ways. See if they line up with His. If we are honest, some of our ways do not fit with the Master’s ways. We must be willing to trust and follow His ways. Our scripture lesson for this devotion is in Haggai 1:5 and reads:

“Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘Consider your ways!’”

In this text, the Lord speaks to His prophet Haggai. He tells him to consider his ways. The time is not right for them to build the Lord’s house. The people turn around for they have planted harvests and reaped nothing. The people were called upon to change their way of living. They were to change their focus and their hearts. God is pleased and calls them to turn in a different direction. Read this entire story and see God’s call on the prophet to direct the people to change their lifestyles, habits and ways. If there was ever a time when we should change our ways, it is now. In our nation, families and even in the church we need to change our ways. It is never about us – it is about God.
