I am extremely grateful that God speaks to my heart every day. These devotions strengthen me as I seek His presence to pen these words. As I write, I think of the confidence and hope I have in Jesus Christ. So many things happen in the course of one day that remind me of the faithfulness of God. Every time I turn around, something is happening in our world that rattles me. When I read the newspaper or watch the news, most often my heart is heavy. But, thanks be unto God, that His Word assures us that we have hope in Him. Not simply hope, but trust, dependence and reliance that allows us to be confident. These are not simply my words, but the Word of God. In Hebrews 10:23, we find these words:

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”

The writer calls on the people of God to hold fast to the profession of their faith and to hold firmly to their hope in God’s faithfulness. No matter what evil may come, what problems may arise, what burdens may mount – just hold fast without wavering. He is faithful and true. Be confident that we have a God who will never leave nor forsake us. May we all be strengthened today with that hope, so that we can say like the songwriter, “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood
and righteousness.”
