COME BEFORE HIS PRESENCE WITH THANKSGIVING
Today’s devotion is a call to worship. On this Friday, March 20th, we have the opportunity to worship the Lord and acknowledge the many blessings He has given to us. The beauty of this day is that we don’t have to wait until Sunday. I believe whole-heartedly that we should worship Him every day. We do not need to go into the sanctuary we can worship Him in our homes. I would argue that every day is a day of thanksgiving, acknowledging the goodness and kindness of the Lord. I begin the church without walls service with “this is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 95:2 reads in this manner:
“Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.”
In this moving passage, the psalmist speaks with a loud voice – let us praise the Lord.” led by a choir of worshipers as they move along the procession lifting their voices of praise. The festival they were celebrating is one that awakens their gratitude and for them to offer songs of thanks. The psalmist then declares, “The Lord is a great God and a great King above all God.” They have every reason to give God thanks. They are called to acknowledge God’s power and love, to worship and bow down and kneel before the Lord their Maker. They express their gratitude with joyful songs and praise. The Lord deserves our praise because He has been good to us and has made ways for us. It is a blessing to praise Him. I pray that you have a story to tell and a God to glorify and that you love to praise the Lord. You are not ashamed to lift up His high and holy name. You are truly grateful for the mercy, love and blessings God has given. Never be ashamed to praise His name.
