It is so important that we are led by the Lord when we select our friends. Friends are gifts from God. God sends us friends to encourage us. There is a vast difference between an “acquaintance” and a “friend.”  If you have been blessed with one true “friend” you are blessed indeed. Friends are dependable,, and they will be by your side whether you are right or wrong. In Proverbs 22:24, we find these words:

“Don’t befriend angry peopleor associate with hot-tempered people.”

The author gives sound advice, telling us not to make friends with angry, mean-spirited people, but instead, to surround ourselves with people who have a heart of humility and patience. Thank God for Jesus, our true friend! Thank God for earthly friends, but be careful – we must all choose our friends wisely!
