It is so important that we make the right choices in life. One wrong choice can change our life forever. We do have a choice, because God has given us freewill. We can choose to follow Him or turn away from Him. We can choose to do evil or to do good. What choices have you made? What have you resolved to do with your life? Are you following God? In Matthew 19:22, we find these words:

“But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he had many possessions.”

 We see that the man rejected Jesus’ invitation. Throughout this story, Matthew describes the man as young. Luke describes him as a ruler (Luke 18:18). Jesus told him to sell what he had and give to the poor. Unfortunately, he did not do that. He made a choice to walk away. Even though the Lord provides us with choices, He also gives us commandments and mandates to follow. Like this young man, we can also say “No.” Prayerfully, when the Lord speaks to us about what we need to do, we will not walk away, but rather, we will make the choice to follow Him.
