CHILDREN OF GOD
As children of God, we are blessed to have a Heavenly Father who watches over us. We may not have a biological father, and countless people have never experienced the love of an earthly father. I am one of those who never heard my father say I love you. Nevertheless, my Heavenly Father placed men in my life who were there to shower me with love. I think of my pastor, Rev. Dr. Albert Franklin Campbell, Pastor Emeritus, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, who warmly says to me, “Charles Warren Quann, I love you.” Those words resonate in my heart. Above all, I thank God that I am His child. This devotion has deep meaning and I know that I am not alone. The good news is that God loves all of us. We are His children. I John 3:2 is our scriptural reference today.
“Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but He has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He really is.”
In this marvelous passage of scripture, we see the beauty of God’s bountiful love. We are loved so much that we are called the Children of God. We shall be like Him! This change into His likeness, begins in this life. We shall see Him as He is. Such love has been given to us, His children. Thank God today that we are sons and daughters of the Most High God. Rejoice today that you are a child of God.
