BLAMELESS
There is hardly anyone in the family of God who has not heard the story of Job’s faithfulness. For countless years, sermons have been preached about Job, this upright man who had great integrity. There will continue to be sermons preaching insight into this incredible servant of God. Job did not buckle under severe circumstances. We have much to learn by reading Job. I must admit that I am still trying to take some of Job’s characteristics and apply them to my life. I am honest when I say that I am not there yet. In Job1:1, we find these words:
“There once was a man named Job who lived in the land of Uz. He was blameless—a man of complete integrity. He feared God and stayed away from evil.”
Some translations of this scripture indicate that Job was a perfect man who feared God and turned away from evil. Job’s faith was put to the test, but God knew what he could handle. Let me say here, that God knows what we can handle. This is why it is important that we stay close to God so when we are tested, we can remain faithful like Job. I pray that I may someday develop some of Job’s attributes. Prayerfully, you want the same thing.
