It is so important that we believe in God’s love. We should know that He loves us! The question is, do we really love Him? Peter said on more than one occasion that he loved the Lord and believed in His love for him; yet, when Peter was tested, he failed by denying Jesus more than once. On the other hand, John believed in God’s love so much that he was there- all the way to the cross with Him. In 1 John 4:16, we find these words:

“We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.”

We see the confidence expressed in these words, so we know and believe in the love that God has for us. John knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the deep and profound love of God. This mystical experience of divine love touched his heart. Prayerfully, today we all know in whom we believe, and we know that God loves each of us. Prayerfully, it is more than a feeling; we have sound knowledge that no matter what happens in life, God’s love will be there. Prayerfully, we are able to rely on Him knowing that His love is ever present. There may be things that we are unsure of, but we should never doubt His love!
