BEAR ONE ANOTHER’S BURDENS
As believers in Christ, we are to bear one another’s burdens. We should be concerned about our brothers and sisters, striving to care for and to share in whatever they are going through. Our aim should be to help, to encourage, and to pray for them. We need each other!
Our Scripture lesson is from Galatians 6:2 and it speaks clearly about the need to bear one another’s burdens:
“Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.”
The writer indicates that if another believer is overcome by sin, you who are godly should humbly help that person back on the right path, but be careful not to follow the same temptation yourself. We cannot judge anyone, for if it were not for the Grace of God we could fall into that same situation. In the same way, we may need someone to help us bear our burdens. The writer speaks about the need to help others. Do not think that anyone is so important that he or she is exempt from this. Only what we do for Christ will last! We must understand that we have a responsibility one to another and we should always extend a helping hand. Godly people set godly examples before their children, who see them living a life that reflects their relationship with God. Prayerfully, today, you have made a commitment and are living a life that is a reflection of our Savior’s love, bearing the burdens of others.
