It is so important that we are authentic in our living and not find ourselves living a life that has no real substance. When God looks at us, He knows if we are the real thing by what we are doing. When others look at us, they will know we are not pretending, but earnestly seeking to do what pleases God. Our worship is real. Our living is real. Our testimony is real. Nothing is phony about us. We have been tried and tested and know who we are and whose we are. We are not doing anything for show or to gain popularity. We are simply being what God has called us to be; true to Him. Our scripture reference is found in Matthew 3:8 and reads in this manner.

“Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.”

These are powerful words! We are called upon to live according to what we have confessed. If we say we have repented of our sins, we need to act and live that way. In this passage, we see John baptizing, in the wilderness, and preaching his message of repentance. John tells the people to repent of their sins and to return to God. He warns them about living false lives and being true to the One to whom they repented. In other words, be the real thing. Prayerfully, there is nothing fake or false about you and your life praises Him in word and deed. God will get the glory out of your life.
