As we accept Jesus Christ and confess our sins and faults to Him, not only does He forgive us, He gives us a brand-new life. This new life is a process. But, as we begin this process, we are confident that God has released us from our sinful ways, and we have truly begun a new life with Him. It is important that we become the new person God has made us. We cannot revert to old habits. Instead, we must present our bodies as a living and holy temple unto God. We will never be perfect, but God has a way of changing us so that we become brand new. Someone said I looked at my hands and they looked new, I looked at my feet and they did too. I cried out I have been redeemed by the blood of the Lord. Today’s scriptural reference is II Corinthians 5:17.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”

Paul speaks clearly about this new life in Christ. He indicates that Christ died for everyone so that those who receive this new life will not believe in themselves, but in Christ who died, and was raised from the dead. This new life does not allow us to judge or harm others. Rather, this gift from God gives us the strength to love others as God loves us. Read chapter 5. See the blessing that we have received in this new life. Then, live each day as the new person God has made you to be.
