As believers, we must be strong in the Lord having a faith that is grounded and rooted in the Lord. We must have a faith that is deep and abiding, not weak and shabby. We must be courageous, willing to take a stand for the Lord and not be intimidated by those around us. We must not be fearful but know that God is strong and mighty. We can draw from him. Know that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. The battle is the Lord’s, and we are victorious because we have a God with all power. Joshua 1:9 speaks clearly about the need to be strong and courageous:

“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Here we see the Lord’s charge to Joshua: “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them.” Joshua has been given the mantle. The Lord tells Joshua that He was with Moses, and He will be with him, encouraging him to be strong. Do not be discouraged today, for the Lord is on your side. Do not deviate from the command He has given you. Stay on the path where He is leading you. Have confidence that allows you to be strong and courageous.
