BE STILL

I cannot count the times on the Church Without Walls when I have said, “Be still.” Early in the morning, it is important to be still, quiet and hear from the Lord. In reality, it is important to be still. We always feel the need to move and to talk. However, there are blessings in being still. Be still in the morning to hear the birds sing.  Be still in the morning to listen to the voice of the Lord. Be still and know that He is God. Today, the scripture reference is Psalm 46:10.

“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”

The psalmist speaks about the need to be still. As he opens chapter forty-six, he speaks of God as our refuge and strength, ready to help in our times of trouble. He declares God’s wonders and extends an invitation for those to see the glorious works of the Lord. Every nation throughout the world will honor God’s name. The psalmist has discovered the beauty of holiness in quietness. We receive many blessings when we are still before the Lord and recognize His sovereignty. Regardless of what you may be going through, God can speak, and things will change. So, today and every day, take the time to be still. Early in the morning, and as you rest your head on your pillow, be still.
