Be Real

There is something about being real that allows us to honor God. People are watching us, and they want to know if our worship is real. They are looking for authentic people of God — people who are humble, and who are not ashamed to acknowledge their humility. There are times when we say words like “too blessed to be stressed” or “blessed and highly favored.”  These words sound good, but they have no real substance. You can be a strong believer and still be stressed. We don’t have to try to impress God. Our witness becomes much more meaningful when people see us as real, down-to-earth, human beings. Remember, according to the King James version of Romans 3:23, “…all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. There is no need for us to pretend to be self-righteous —  just be real! In Proverbs 12:9, we find these words:

“Better to be an ordinary person with a servant than to be self-important but have no food.”

When you get a chance, read this entire chapter, because there are some valuable life lessons to be learned. It is better to be a meek, humble person who earns his or her livelihood with humility than to be a braggadocious individual whose boasting outweighs his or her accomplishments. There is no need for us to be puffed up or full of pride, for God honors those who are humble. God will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). That’s being real, honest, and true.
