BE PREPARED FOR THE ASSIGNMENT
As believers, we should always be prepared for the assignment. We do not know when or how the Lord will call on us, but we are under orders from the Lord God, to carry out His will in our lives. Each of us must be ready to pray, or to read His Word. He will aid us with His strength, and by faith, we should be prepared, no matter the assignment. In 2 Timothy 3: 17, we find these words:
“God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”
Paul, the humble servant of the Lord, gives a charge to Timothy, his son in the ministry. He tells him to, “Remain faithful to the things you been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been taught by the Holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.” He goes on to say, “All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” He uses the Word of God to equip Timothy to do God’s work. That is where preparation comes from, the Word of God. It must be thoroughly planted in our hearts and minds. The Word gives us strength to do what we need to do.
