BE ON GUARD
As believers, we must always be on guard. That means we must stay strong and do everything according to the will of God. We cannot let our guard down for a minute because the devil will take advantage of us. And we cannot be weak and feeble. We must all remain strong in the Lord. Everything we do should be done to give God glory, honor, and praise. God has called us to walk humbly with Him. That requires
us to have a deep and abiding faith. There will be times when we might get distracted, but if we keep our focus and remain strong, the Lord will take us through. In 1 Corinthians 16:13, we find these words:
Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.
Paul is writing to the people whom he loves, encouraging them to remain strong in the Lord. His son Timothy is coming to them, and he wants them to treat Timothy with love and respect. Paul’s final instructions are for the people to remain strong in the Lord and to be on guard at all times. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, we are all standing firm in the faith and on guard.
