It is important to be in position to honor God. Our hearts and minds must be in the proper place. When God speaks to us, are we able to hear Him? When God calls us for service, are we able to respond? We cannot serve God in any way when we are out of position. I would argue that position does not mean title. One can be pastor, deacon, missionary or trustee. None of these represent being in the right position. Rather, one must be open and available to God. The songwriter wrote, “Lord I am available to you.” Jeremiah 6:10- reads:

“To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? Behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.”

We see God speaking to Jeremiah, wanting to know to whom He can speak. Will they hear? Will they respond? Are they in their right position? Jeremiah is troubled, because the people have turned a deaf ear and have become cold. He gives a warning, for their ear is to be consecrated to respond. Read this entire chapter when you get a chance. Then take an inventory of your personal journey. Prayerfully, you will be in a position to respond to God when He calls us to be used for His glory. We never know when that call will come.
