We should be grateful for God’s Holy Spirit because it is a fulfillment of joy. In Ephesians 5:18, we find these words:

“Don’t be drunk with wine because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

The writer speaks clearly about living by the holy spirit’s power. In verses 15 – 20 he says, “Be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools… make the most of every opportunity… Don’t be drunk with wine because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Live by the Holy Spirit. We should serve by the spirit, and honor God by the spirit — it is a fulfillment of joy. Thank God, today, for His spirit! It will give us peace, and we can sing songs of praise in the midnight hour.
