God is calling His people to be generous. We should offer back to God freely and fully
the blessings that He has given to us, and share them with others, not being stingy or
greedy, but having an open heart. Share with others in your giving so that others will
know that you have a relationship with God. We should let our lives demonstrate all
that we have that has come from God. Consequently, none of us can act as though we
have obtained anything by ourselves, because it is God who has blessed us, and He
called us to be a blessing to others. We know that God loves a cheerful giver, one who
gives freely and fully. In Proverbs 11:25, we find these words:
“The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”
The author makes it clear that the generous will be blessed. In a previous verse, the author writes that if we give freely, we will become wealthier, but if we are stingy, we will lose everything. The writer says that when we are generous, God is generous with us. Our kindness will be rewarded with kindness, and our
love will be rewarded with love. Prayerfully we are striving to become more generous in every aspect of our lives. Prayerfully, we will learn to give more freely and fully, honoring God in ways that symbolize our faith and trust in Him. The mission of Bethlehem is to love God and serve His people. Be generous with
God and be generous with His people!
