We are called upon to be the light of the world. Our lights need to shine bright. We have a glowing light, not a dim one that no one can see. Our light shines in darkness. How does your light shine? Do you turn it on and off? Does your light just shine in some circles that you travel in or everywhere you go? Do you have a glow that lets others know that you are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ? Is your light 20-watt light or a 150-watt light? Our lights need to shine bright all the time. The scripture lesson is found in Matthew 5:16.

“In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

Here, in this passage, Jesus is speaking about salt and light. He tells them they are the salt of the earth. What good is salt if it has lost its flavor? He then talks about the light on a city on the hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket. The lamp is placed on a stand to give light to everyone in the house. Let me pause right here. Is there light in your house? Is there salt in your house?  Is your house dim where the devil reigns, or light in your home where the Lord reigns? Do you carry that light in your daily walk and conversations? Let your light shine bright. God will get the glory. Ensure that your light will not burn out and will shine all night. Have a great day.
