AT THE FEET OF JESUS

When we are on our knees, we are showing reverence and humility. The Lord is worthy of our adoration and He rejoices when we acknowledge His righteousness. In John 12:3, we find these words:

“Then Mary took a twelve-ounce jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard, and she anointed Jesus’ feet with it, wiping his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance.”

No one asked or expected Mary to perform this spontaneous act of love. Her love for the Master was so deep that she broke custom, despite any criticism that she would receive. It is my prayer today that we will never allow any inhibitions or naysayers to stop us from expressing our genuine love for the Master. Every time we are privileged to be in His presence, we ought to have a heart of gratitude that allows us to respond spontaneously with acts of love and devotion.
