We have not because we ask not. There are things that we need to ask of the Lord. Thanks be unto God, He will give them to us according to His will. One thing we should ask Him for is to show us the way. We do not know the way. When we seek to go in another way other than the Lord’s, we will surely fail. He knows the way we take and consequently, we need to make sure that we are following His way. Let me be transparent for a few moments, there was a time in my life when I decided to do things my way. Consequently, I experienced detours and roadblocks. However, thanks to God, He brought me back to the right path. Many of us can tell the story of when we went in the wrong direction, we found out the painful truth that any way other than God’s leads to destruction. Our scripture reference is Psalm 143:8.

 “Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.”

The psalmist cries out to the Lord, pleading that he might be shown the way. He wants the Lord to teach him to do His will. “Let thy good spirit lead”. The psalmist trusts the Lord. He knows the dangers that await Him if he strays from the Lord’s way. He knows that enemies surround him, and he cries to the Lord to be shown the way. He has fled from his enemies, yet he is aware that if the Lord does not lead him, he will fall into the enemies’ hands. The psalmist knows that deliverance comes as he puts his trust and faith in the Lord. Read this psalm, for it speaks volumes to us. May you ask the Lord to show you the way, and that you follow His way.
