Here I am again, writing about our God. There is nothing better to write about than the love and mercy of God. We serve a God who can do all things and do all things well. He is a God of comfort, healing, and protection. We can ask Him to protect us, and He will. If we ask Him in faith, He will grant our requests. We need God’s protection every day. Our streets are full of violence. We see racism and prejudice every day. The enemy rises up against us. Yet God’s protection keeps us. Psalm 16:1 is today’s scriptural reference.

“Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge.”

The psalmist begins this psalm by seeking God’s protection. He acknowledges that God is his Master. He knows every good and perfect gift comes from God. He says that troubles come to those who seek to follow God. He also knows that God’s protection is there for Him. He writes that he will bless the Lord at all times and is shaken, for the Lord is by his side. When troubles come, we cannot be shaken or lose heart. God is with us every step of the way. So, simply do as the psalmist did, ask God for His help. Ask God to keep you safe. Rest assured, He will. He promised to never leave or forsake us.
